Welcome:
The public health challenges faced by the developing countries and continents call for positioning qualified and skilled professionals, who can plan, execute and monitor national health programs and public health initiatives in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the health care delivery system. In this context, “International Public Health Management Development Program” was conceptualized in the year 2016 with an aim to address the huge gap in public health management skills and specifically intended to empower participants in the areas of leadership, team building, planning, monitoring, evaluation, project management, resource allocation, budgeting, financial reporting, total quality management, and public health communication for overall enhancement of the performance and productivity of an organization.
Keeping this in view, a three-month online course (9 weeks teaching and 3-week practicum) was intellectualized to enhance the knowledge and skills of various stakeholders interested to plan & support public health initiatives in the country along with strengthening public health management globally. This course will target public health professionals, students, implementers, academicians, social workers, and people from other backgrounds who want to contribute towards public health.
During the course, the participants will be exposed to topics ranging from UHC & SDG, public health management, management and leadership, project and program planning, human resource management, communication and advocacy, supply chain management, quality management, monitoring and evaluation, and many more.
The teaching will be done through a multi-pronged adult learning pedagogy comprising of video lectures, reading materials, and live interactive sessions. Tests will be conducted at the end of each module. Besides this, the participants will be engaged with their peers in the discussion forums, and undertake practicum/assignments and project work with eminent mentors. In addition, the participants will get an opportunity to develop their e-portfolio which will reflect on their competencies and skills attained during the course.
